Cocktail Garnish...
Being a bartender is more than just knowing how to mix a
drink. Using the proper garnish, in the right drink, will only reflect upon your
bartending skills. Always use freshly washed fruits. Fruit is not only a
decoration, but will also affect the taste of the cocktail. Citrus fruits like
lemon, lime and orange give more juice if you first soak them in warm water for
a few minutes. Then roll them on the cutting board against your hand. This
allows the fruits to become softer for squeezing juice out of them. Cut fruits
should be covered with a damp napkin or stored in a container with a cover
when they are not used. Generally, cut fruits will not last longer than a day .
At the Academy of Professional Bartending school, you will learn the importance
of garnishing a drink, the different styles of garnish to serve such as Wheels,
Spirals, Balls, Wedges, Drops and much more. Quality bartending starts with
quality training. Stop by for a free bartender class at our school and allow us
to show you why we are Westchester's premier Bartending school!
